“Sir Kier Starmer see this please,
As you bring this country to its knees”
We received this soon after the news from the Prime Minister’s ‘Surrender Summit’ with the EU. The author has kindly given us permission to publish it.
The UKFC team has been hard at work and we hope to be able to publish a major new report very shortly. We are currently in discussions with GB News about this. In the meantime, we thought supporters might like the following poem.
This is written to the Prime Minister, from a supporter.
Sir Kier Starmer see this please,
As you bring this country to its knees,
You show nothing but elation,
As you b*****r up our once proud nation.
A fisherman in his domain,
Wind and sleet and snow and rain,
Providing food for you to eat,
While his workplace moves beneath his feet,
Away from family days on end,
Fish to gut and nets to mend,
Still you see a cheery smile,
From a man who hasn’t slept a while,
So spare a thought for those at sea,
Going through hell for you and me,
Wondering what they have to do,
As you bow down to the EU.
Fundraising
We have also been spending time trying to raise funds. We need a large ‘war-chest’ to fight back against the government’s plans which will go a long way to destroying our fishing industry completely if we let them. We are approaching some possible large donors, but we also need many more hundreds of regular Memberships, as they all add up.
If you haven’t already done so, please join now or make a one-off donation. Please also tell all your friends, family, and colleagues about us.
Sir Keir’s new fishing sell-out has not yet been drafted
There’s time to stop it
We need your help to enable us to carry on our vital work. Our emphasis now is on fighting this deal to see it never makes it to the statute book. We have political support (MPs, MSPs, former Ministers), we have media support (GB News, The Daily Express, Fishing News), now we need your support.
Please become a Member now or at the very least please make a one-off donation
Thank you.
The more support we have, the stronger will be our voice when we talk to government. We will also be able to bring on board more part-time team members. They don’t usually need a commercial salary rate, but they do need something as they have to pay the bills as we all do. These are the kind of people whjo would much rather do some contract work for us for less money, (as they believe passionately in the cause), than do contract work on full pay for a commercial client!
Best wishes, from the UK Fisheries Campaign team
