Important news on our progress

You must be wondering why we haven’t published in recent days about the calamitous deal which the Prime Minister has agreed with the EU. The reasons are simple.
Firstly, we have been working on a major report which is a real shocker. As it’s so important in so many ways, we want to get all the details confirmed by more than one source, and this has taken time. We are now very nearly there.
Getting the message out there
Secondly, we have been in discussions with politicians about the best way forward, as well as liaising with all our media contacts. In the case of the latter, they are very interested in running our new report and giving it prominence. This is vital. There are far too many supposed fishing organisations but there is not nearly enough output from them which makes the news.
Conversersely, the UK Fisheries Campaign has been on GB News, in the Daily Express, and in Fishing Times, as well as having approaches from others such as ITV. If we had time, we would update our media page to show you all just how well we’ve been doing in getting the message out.
Earlier this week our Chairman was due to appear on the very popular Patrick Christys show on GB News, but this was cancelled that evening, as they cancalled all their usual programnming when the news of the Liverpool tragedy began to come in. This didn’t only happen to our Chairman – even Jacob Rees-Mogg’s show was cancelled.
Fundraising
We have also been spending time trying to raise funds. We need a large ‘war-chest’ to fight back against the government’s plans which will go a long way to destroying our fishing industry completely if we let them. We are approaching some possible large donors, but we also need many more hundreds of regular Memberships, as they all add up.

We need your help to enable us to carry on our vital work. Our emphasis now is on fighting this deal to see it never makes it to the statute book. We have political support (MPs, MSPs, former Ministers), we have media support (GB News, The Daily Express, Fishing News), now we need your support.

The more support we have, the stronger will be our voice when we talk to government. We will also be able to bring on board more part-time team members. They don’t usually need a commercial salary rate, but they do need something as they have to pay the bills as we all do. These are the kind of people whjo would much rather do some contract work for us for less money, (as they believe passionately in the cause), than do contract work on full pay for a commercial client!
Please keep coming back. We can’t say for certain when we’ll be able to publish our ‘scoop’, but it should either be this weekend or on Monday. And it will have been worth waiting for, we assure you!
